The short version
Bliv. sets no advertising cookies and nothing that follows you from site to site. The only cookies are Google Analytics’, on our own pages, and only if you say yes.
What your browser keeps so the pages work
These are kept in your browser’s own storage, not in cookies. They stay on your device and are only read by the page that set them. The site needs them to work, so we don’t ask first.
- Your sign-in
- Keeps you signed in to your dashboard.
- Until you sign out
- Your cookie answer
- Remembers whether you said yes or no to analytics.
- Six months
- Light or dark
- Remembers the look you chose.
- Until you change it
- Setting up
- Keeps your answers while you set up a business, so a reload loses nothing.
- Until setup is done
- Your basket
- What you added to a business’s shop, until you pay.
- Until you pay or empty it
- Bookings on this phone
- Your recent bookings, so a business’s check-in poster can find yours.
- The last eight
- A sign-up box you closed
- On a business’s website, so it doesn’t keep asking.
- As long as that business sets
- Small choices
- A tip you closed, a list view you picked.
- Until you clear them
Where a sign-up or booking came from
Also in your browser’s storage, not cookies. Each is a short tag that is sent to us once, with your sign-up, booking or order, and never to anyone else.
- Where you came from
- If a Bliv badge or link brought you, which one, sent with your sign-up so we can tell which links work.
- 30 days
- A friend’s code
- The referral code in a friend’s link, sent with your sign-up so they get their reward.
- Until your business is set up
- An ad you followed
- If you came to a business from one of its own posts or ads, that post’s short tag, sent with your booking or order so the business can see what the post brought in.
- That browser tab only
Only if you say yes
On Bliv’s own pages (not a business’s website, booking page or shop) we may ask whether we can count your visit with Google Analytics. If you accept, it sets cookies named _ga and _ga_… to count visits and which pages are read, with adverts, personalisation and Google signals off. Google keeps them for up to two years. Say no, or change your mind later, and they are removed.
Counting visits without cookies
We count visits to our pages in totals, without cookies and without keeping your internet address. The detail is in our privacy policy.
Paying
Card payments happen on Stripe’s own page, which sets Stripe’s cookies under Stripe’s cookie policy, to keep payments safe and stop fraud.
